Jasmine was in an arranged marriage and didnt want to marry someone she didn’t love
Snow White cleaned and cared for them and wasn’t sleeping with them
Pinocchio avoided lying and was actually doing all he did to save his father and become a real boy
Robin hood stole from the rich that were stealing from the poor via taxes
Tarzan was raised by fucking apes
Sleeping beauty was in a coma and only the kiss from her true love could bring her to life
Cinderella was a slave
Don’t try to use my childhood to justify you being a whore

“This may surprise people, but it is the truth. In many, many ways, Hufflepuff is my favorite House. There comes a point in the final book where each House has the choice whether or not to rise to a certain challenge… The Slytherins, for reasons that are understandable, decide they’d rather not play. The Ravenclaws: some decide they will, some decide they won’t. The Hufflepuffs, virtually to a person, stay – as do the Gryffindors. Now, the Gryffindors comprise a lot of fool-hardy and show-offy people. That’s just the way it is. I’m a Gryffindor, I’m allowed to say it. There’s bravery and there’s also showboating, and sometimes the two go together. The Hufflepuffs stayed for a different reason. They weren’t trying to show off. They weren’t being reckless.  That’s the essence of Hufflepuff House. Now my oldest child, my daughter Jessica, said something very profound to me not very many days ago actually. She said to me – and she, by the way, was not Sorted into Hufflepuff House – but she said to me, “I think we should all want to be Hufflepuffs.” I can only say to you that I would not be at all disappointed to be Sorted into Hufflepuff House. So I’m a little upset that anyone does feel that way.”  -Jo Rowling

Ancient Egypt and Women’s Rights.
Despite the fact that women were seen as inferior to men in Ancient Egypt, Egyptian women had a great deal of rights and liberties that many people are unaware of. For example, women in Egypt could purchase and sell property, serve on juries, make wills, and even enter legal contracts. While Egyptian women rarely worked outside of their homes, in the occasion that she did work outside the home, she would be paid the same amount a man would be paid. Egyptian women as well enjoyed the liberty of divorcing and remarrying. In fact when a women and a man were getting married they would make a legal contract, a contract that listed the property of the women and her financial contributions to the marriage. In the contract the women was promised a reimbursement in the case of divorce.

IT JUST GOT REAL

What good news for the world.

Remember when this made the news weeks ago and US news outlets didn’t find it worth reporting?

BLESS THIS

This should have like, 1,000% more notes.
This is amazing.

Are you telling me that those Ryan Gosling cupcakes have 45,000 notes and this post hasn’t even reached 5,000?

Relevant.

And it was on this day that this appeared on my dash, and I said “Damn, finally some good news!” and reblogged the hell out of it.

Finally. :)
